We offer 121 spacious indoor kennels that are 4′ wide and 10′ long–allowing room for your pet to stretch out or walk around. All runs are air conditioned and heated.

Dogs are let outside individually, into a large fenced area 4 times a day. They are without a leash – but under our supervision.

We feed them a high-quality chicken, rice, and barley dry dog food. If your dog needs a special diet, we ask that you provide it along with instructions as to when and how to feed.

We offer In-House bathing Services. Bathing Services also include a blow-dry and nail clipping. Prices vary by breed and size.

Bathing is by appointment ONLY. It also cannot be guaranteed if it is on a very busy holiday week or weekend. We will do our very best to accommodate everyone who asks for an appointment.

Important Requirements Before you Visit

Vaccine requirements

In order for your dog to be eligible to stay with us they must be current on the following vaccinations:

  • Rabies Vaccine
  • Distemper/Parvo Vaccine
  • Negative Heartworm Test
  • Bordetella (Kennel Cough) Vaccine
  • Canine Influenza Vaccine (H3N2 & H3N8)

Please note the Bordetella and Canine Influenza Vaccines must be requested from your vet and are usually not part of your dog’s annual check-ups. However, they are essential in making sure your dogs remain healthy during a stay with us. Please follow the links below for more information.

Overall health of your dog

Your dog MUST be in good health in order to board with us here at Brandywine Kennels. While we would love the opportunity to care for your dogs, we will not compromise their health nor the health of other dogs we have staying here with us.

In saying that, please take a minute to read the following if you are boarding a Geriatric Dog:

We are capable of caring for elderly dogs. However, PLEASE take into consideration the quality of life and the overall general health of your dog before you board him/her. If your dog needs assistance to get up and assistance walking outside 4 times everyday, you should rethink boarding your dog. If your dog cannot hold his/her bowels anymore, you should rethink boarding your dog.

This has nothing to do with our capability, instead, we are thinking about your dog if it is in this condition. Consider the stress of putting a geriatric dog in a kennel that cannot walk without help nor hold its bowels. The stress is enormous.

In our PROFESSIONAL opinion, it is NOT recommended that you board a dog that cannot move around freely in the run and get up and go outside for fresh air and new scenery 4 times a day.

Food and Meal Time

You may choose to provide your dog’s food from home or have us supply their meals. We feed Purina One All Natural Lamb and Rice. It is a dry dog food. The price of boarding is the same either way.

If you bring their own food it is recommended, but not required, that you pre-package each meal in a zip-lock baggie. This is indeed a help to us but it also guarantees that we feed the exact amount of food that you intend for us to feed.

Medications for your Dog

We are able to administer your medications at no extra charge.

We have created a convenient, printable checklist for boarding to make sure your dog is well on their way to having a great time with use!
